Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Ezio Bistro was highly recommended, so within 24 hours of hearing that, I knew we had to try it out. We took it to go, and even to go, this place was phenomenal. We got the shrimp bow tie pasta with lobster cream sauce 8.5/10 and a pappardelle with shrimp and Alfredo 10/10. Check this place out!"
"An authentic, family-owned Italian restaurant run by a family from southern Italy—truly a hidden gem. I visited with friends, including one who’s Italian, and we all agree: 10/10."
"Wow… this is one of the best Italian restaurants in San Antonio. The food is spectacular and the family feel is perfect."
"We were really looking forward to having supper here. This is the only restaurant that offers Veal Saltimbocca a La Romana, a rarity here in town. I make this at home but use chicken, because of the high cost of veal. The dish here is over $40. I began with a radicchio salad. It was fresh, spicy and had a light vinaigrette dressing and gorgonzola cheese. I enjoyed it. My husband ordered the Caprese salad and he enjoyed it. We decided to split the veal dish as we do now for most meals. Unfortunately, the veal was dry and over-cooked, very easy to do with veal. I was offered a side of sauteed spinach, and it was flavorless. It really needed garlic and lemon, at least. We opted not to have dessert. This is a relatively small restaurant. It felt quite cozy."
"I was looking for someplace new to try out, that had Italian food, and one of my neighbors suggested this little bistro. So, we decided to visit Ezio Bistro located at the corner of Huebner & Bitters roads (address 16615 Huebner Rd, SATX 78248). I will note up front that they currently are open only for dinner. We entered and we're promptly greeted. I will note that upon entry, I saw a nice, cozy, upscale dining experience in front of me. This is a family owned restaurant and the atmosphere speaks to the pride taken to put together everything from service to the dishes made. I wasn't sure what to expect, but ended up having a real nice dining experience which is good for any date or family gathering. Anyway, were seated, our server Adrianno, brought the beverage, and dinner menus and explained the specialties. I started with a Peroni because it's been a while since I had one. We we're brought a basket of homemade bread along with some olive oil and vinegarrett already mixed. We started with a salas order and ordered a Insalata Mista and split it between us. It was refreshing and delicious. I ordered the Tortellini al Brandy and my guest ordered the Bucatini Amatriciana. These took a few minutes to prep, and arrived within 15 - 20 or so minutes. Both dishes were tasty and very delicious. As with any restaurant visit I decided to try their desserts. We could not decide and selected the Tiramisu and Limoncello cake. These desserts arrived and the presentation on the dishes I thought was very nice. Both desserts were very very tasty and good. After talking with our server a few minutes, I discovered that this little gem or a restaurant has been around for 3 years. I would highly encourage you to to enjoy the dining experience that they offer. You should plan on spending anywhere from $$ to $$$, which I think is worth the experience. The family is from the heel area of Italy and not far from where I lived for a few years, at one time. I hope that you decide to visit, and that's your experience. This is good or better than the one I had. Enjoy and Ciao for now."
"Our favorite restaurant! Chef Ezio works hard to provide a fresh, delicious meal from start to finish. What other restaurant gifts their patrons with a bottle of Italian wine & a Panettone to take home?! Amazing! Love this family gem!"
"This is for sure the best Italian restaurant I’ve ever been to and will ever go to until I visit Italy someday. Everything about this place is great from top to bottom. We started off with the Bresaola which was very tasty especially with the authentic mozzarella with it. I got an item that was not on the menu but used to be and they were able to make it for me with no problem. It was such a simple dish but so incredibly delicious. The shrimp was uniquely shaped and tasted so fresh as if they got right out of the ocean or something. My friends got the ravioli filled with spinach that was in a very tasty tomato sauce that was so authentic and richly flavored. For dessert I got a dark chocolate/white chocolate cake that tasted absolutely fantastic. This place needs to get a Michelin star at some point and I sure hope it does as it is rightfully deserved. Easily one of the best restaurants in San Antonio and a must try."
"Second time coming here with my wife, who's from Sicily, and some friends who've never been before - it was a smashing success! Once again, service was great and great to talk with (they remembered my wife and I well from the first visit). Dining experience was good too, as the ambiance and noise level is perfect to relax with loved ones (and even enjoy a football game on TV). Food, again, was absolutely wonderful as we shared various plates including off-the-menu specials and desserts (limoncello spongecake is must try). While I love the hidden gem vibes, this place deserves to be much more well known in SA so definitely go visit. For sure, we'll be back soon!"
